This Day in Unitarian Universalist History January 8

1867 – Emily Greene Balch was born. A Unitarian, she was the chair of the Wellesley College Department of Economics and Sociology. In 1919, she and Jane Addams founded the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom. She was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1946.
