UUCC Artist’s Way
Unlock Your Creativity! The UUCCPF Artist’s Way Process Group will follow the 12-session approach outlined and explained in Julia Cameron’s book “The Artist’s Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity”
The group, led by Leonard Kirchner and Pam Kirchner-Daniel, will meet on Zoom for 2 hours every other week, starting on September 1, 2020. We will meet for 12 sessions to discuss the book, projects, progress and the creative process. It is important that you plan to attend all meetings. The group is limited to no more than eight people.
Participating in the group sets the stage for people to explore their creative and spiritual process in ways that fit well for them. A piece of the group is to deal with the barriers that get in all of our ways.
The group discusses things that can hinder the creative process: the weight of responsibilities, feelings of inadequacy, thinking that being creative is too selfish or that you are too busy. For some, the goal is to find a creative outlet or to feel more at peace and more connected with an artistic commitment. For other people it may be a curiosity, a way of exploring creative endeavors that they practiced perhaps when they were teenagers or in their early 20s.
The Artists Way program is for professional and aspiring artists. Groups have included all sorts of professions, such as musicians, teachers, construction workers and accountants.
