In 1979 the first Women and Religion Conference was held at Grailville in Ohio. Misty Sheehan led a workshop on the faith statement of the UUA, which held within it the words

The Fatherhood of God and The Brotherhood of Man. The gathered group of women were asked

“Do these words include you?” Unanimous and immediate…the answer was no. The story of the creation and adoption of the 7 Principles began at that moment. Reverend Tracy was there for it all and will preach on this story.
