RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CLASSES
Our religious education
program is open to all families, regardless of their religious affiliation,
who wish to provide their children with a values-based spiritual grounding.
The roots of our church date
back to the 1950’s as a liberal education resource for the south
suburbs – and that tradition lives on today in our Sunday School
program and other church-related activities.
We teach an expansive
curriculum that seeks to open our children’s minds as well as their
hearts. Our RE classes draw from various religious traditions as well as
other creative resources, and help students understand the wisdom that each
spiritual path has to offer.
From that broad grounding, we
help our young people find their own age-appropriate concept of
spirituality and, through that process, learn to apply those understandings
to their lives.
Our children and youth also
join us in the sanctuary for family worship and engage in social justice
activities that serve the surrounding communities and beyond.
