FORUM

Every Sunday (September through May) at 11:15 am, the liveliest discussion, best information sharing, and deepest pondering happens in our FORUM. Local and international authorities on a wide range of topics keep us connected to the larger world. We gather in classroom three for the presentation, and then the discussion. Check the Newsletter for upcoming FORUM topics.

BOOK DISCUSSIONS

Weekday and weekend book discussion groups meet monthly to explore a commonly read book. The topics are varied, chosen by each group each spring; the discussion are lively; the friendships endure. There is always room for a new member - contact the office if you would like to have a group leader contact you with more information.

COVENANT GROUPS

These small, structured groups provide a safe and supportive community in which to explore more deeply the issues of life, the ideas of faith, and the events of we each encounter along the way. Groups meet on weekday mornings and Friday evenings. There is always room for a new member - contact the office if you would like to have a group leader contact you with more information.

EDGAR'S PLACE

Second Saturdays are music times at UUCC. The tradition of the coffeehouse scene is alive and well: good music in the folk vein. Nibbles to enjoy. Check the Newsletter for current offerings.

MEDITATION GROUP

Monday evenings, a sitting meditation group welcomes all who want to explore the meaning of life by seeking spirital discipline and a loss of attachment to the physical realm. There is always room for a new member - contact the office if you would like to have a group leader contact you with more information.

MEN'S GROUP

Twice a month, an evening gathering of men consider topics of their own choosing, in a safe, confidential setting. There is always room for a new member - contact the office if you would like to have a group leader contact you with more information.

POTLUCKS

Every month we have a potluck meal -- just bring whatever you want to share . . . some people cook at home and others avail themselves of something from the store. Often there is a program associated with the meal, like a July 4th party, a discussion on church-related community action, a Day of the Dead celebration, etc. Check the Newsletter for current offerings.

RAINBOW CAFE

This Saturday evening cafe is intended for gay men, lesbians, bisexual and transgendered adults, and their allies. . This is a community service and outreach, and is not limited to UU members. It meets on the third Saturday evening of each month beginning October 20th, at 7 p.m. The event is informal, with no planned program other than an optional discussion group -- just a chance to meet and enjoy interacting with like-minded individuals. Those attending are encouraged to bring some nonalcoholic drinks and a desert or snack to pass, or to bring a financial donation, but neither is mandatory. Contact the church office for more information.

DANCES OF UNIVERSAL PEACE

One Sunday afternoon each month, these moving interplays of song and motion lead participants to a wider appreciation of the potential for peace among all people. For more information contact our local sponsor.

YOGA

A daytime and an evening session of yoga is offered by local instructor Karen Nielsen. There is a charge for participation. There is always room for a new member - contact the office if you would like to have a group leader contact you with more information.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

participate outside UUCC

Our congregation is engaged is numerous projects in the community. Volunteers from the church work with the PADS shelter program for the homeless, Habitat for Humanity, Democracy for America, Interfaith Transitional Homes, Fair Trade products, RESULTS, Unitarian Universalist Service Committee, Respond Now and others.
